This was noticed by our team around 11:15 pm 11/26/16
A lot of our activist have been frequenting the Morton County Sheriff's Department facebook page for months now. This being the case it wasn't long before one of us noticed the page was missing.
There are most likely a few good reasons as to why the page is now gone. We did a quick look around facebook and found the rumors already flying about this one too.

morton down2
The Morton County Sheriff’s Department has been blunt about proclaiming their innocence on their facebook page. With constant propaganda aimed to demonize Water Protectors and push out right lies about the events unfolding under their command and so called rule of law.
The comment section on the page alone was enough to show their action garnered little support from the public. Every post filled with thousands of comments ranging from #IStandWithStandingRock and lies spammed in mass, to spreading of truth and expressions of anger. With to many to delete MCSD continued to attempt to defend their actions as if nothing wrong was happening pushing blatant lies about every account coming from Standing Rock.
Then with out warning the Facebook page was removed, and with no statement from MCSD, nobody is quite sure why. There could be several reasons for the removal of the page, but as of now, there is no information. Normally I would attempt to reach out to them, but in this case I already know a call through to the department will be met with a busy signal 95% of the time, as well as most of the phone numbers of law enforcement made public are since deactivated. So for the time being one can only speculate, and at the least celebrate this minor victory.
Speculation has already begun as to what the cause of the page going down.
Some believe it may be the work of the hacker collective Anonymous. While it is a good theory, it is highly unlikely. To delete a Facebook page, you have to be a main admin on the page. It is highly doubtful that whoever runs the page would have added on a new admin that has nothing to do with the department.
Long ago, hacking a Facebook page was a relatively simple task. However, over the years Facebook has stepped up their security. Hacking a Facebook account is now quite a grueling task and most likely not the culprit behind the missing page.
The removal of the page also does not fit Anonymous’ modus operandi. While deleting a Facebook page is very aggravating to the owner, normally when a hacker conquers an area of the web, there is something left to show who did it and why. Almost like a battle flag of sorts. Taking that Facebook page would be a huge victory in the cyber world, and the new owner of the page would have celebrated their win. {a}
Anonymous?
Some have started a rumor that Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier has been suspended. At this time, that does not appear to be true. Instead, some may be confusing the recent suspension of McKenzie County Sheriff Gary Schwartzenberger for Kirchmeier.
Schwartzenberger was recently accused of being guilty of misconduct, malfeasance, crime in office, neglect of duty or gross incompetency. The suspension was backed by the BCI, who found Schwartzenberger on Wednesday night while he was working on the Dakota Access Pipeline protest enforcement.
After growing complaints from his employees and others in county departments, the Village Business Institute was able to remove Schwartzenberger on the grounds of harassment and intimidation amid concerns that he fostered a quasi-military environment. {b}
There is a petition to remove Sheriff Kyle Kirchmeier from office. The petition has gained a lot of traction among activist groups. I have seen it come across my news feed more than once.
Sheriff Gary Schwartzenberger’s suspension
his is highly unlikely, but there have been massive reporting campaigns for display of violence. Maybe just maybe some one working at facebook saw a report on the matter. Maybe this employee had some personal feelings about the situation. Maybe he said "Fuck it." and deleted the page. I doubt it but hey stranger things have happened.
In the wake of the pages removal troll pages have popped up everywhere claiming they were taken down by facebook for various reasons. Including for being confused as with a terrorist organization. A personal favorite of mine with that one.

The most likely of scenarios....
Collateral Damage.
Time to scrub the page of all the evidence they had been posting about their illegal operations.
The facebook page was a hindrance to MCSD appearance of innocence, and they are now cleaning up the collateral damage.
For starters the comments section were out of control. There was no containing the chaos for sure. Truth was unfolding right there in front of the uninformed masses. Aside from all that the amount of evidence they were giving on the facebook page from their perspective was very damning in and of itself. Personally I now wish I had saved hard copies of a lot of things from that page. Making claims such as the explosion that caused the lose of arm to an activist was from this UNEXPLODED cylinder, as well as denying the use of water cannons just to name a few
Regaurdless of the reasoning behind this, you can rest assured it is because of the events unfolding at Standing Rock, as well as that this is not for our benefit.

What can you do to help you ask?
First and foremost we have put out an emergency call to action
Please share this with everyone you can on every outlet.
The time to join this fight has never been more urgent. The law enforcement budget is nearly completely dry, chances of getting more money are looking pretty grim. They are going to try to crush this movement before that time comes. This is our moment, victory is with in reach. We must unite as one. Stand in defense of our brothers, our sisters, our elders, our children and OUR LAND. We are many they are few. This is our right. Together we will see this black snake bled dry.
